Trashigang Tshechu Festival is held at Trashigang Dzong, one of the oldest and biggest dzongs in eastern Bhutan and in olden times this dzong used to be the center of governing body in eastern Bhutan. The dzong is located on the hillock overlooking the Drangmechhu. A three-day annual tshechu of Trashigang is one of the biggest festivals of eastern Bhutan even though the respective districts held their own tshechus, people from all eastern Bhutan gather to attend this tshechu.
The mask dances performed by the monks, the significance of each mask dances, the folk songs performed by locals, the display of local arts and handicrafts, the sight of locals in their finniest attires and the happiest moments is what attracts tourists to this festival.
